The Senior Aides Program is an important part
of the Senior Community Services Employment
Program (SCEP). Funded under Title V of the
Older Americans' Act (1963), it provides training
and part-time employment opportunities for over
65,000 older workers in America.
Senior Services America, Inc. (formerly National
Senior Citizens' Education and Research Center)
is responsible for more than fifteen percent of these
participants, including nearly fifty people presently
in work assignments in Ashtabula County.
Locally, the program is administered by the
Workforce Policy Board in partnership with the
Ashtabula County Department of Job and Family
Services Office of Workforce Development (OWD)
site in the Ashtabula Plaza.
