The Board of Elections conducts elections for Ashtabula County by placing candidates and issues on the ballot.
The Board of Elections is a STATE office paid by county funds overseen by Ohio's Secretary of State. There are 88 boards in the state, each consists of a Director, Deputy Director and four board members. Three of these positions are held by Democrats and the other three by Republicans. The party affiliation of the Secretary of State determines which party will hold the seat of Director of the Board of Elections.
