Law Library

The Ashtabula County Law Library is open to the public and provides legal resource materials in books and online subscription resources for our patrons.

Our collection includes Ohio practice materials including Ohio Revised Code, local ordinances, court rules, and other specialized handbooks.  Books and materials cannot be checked out.  Access to forms and other legal procedure information is available through several links provided on our self-help patron computer. Library staff cannot assist you in filling out forms.

The library provides free notary services, please contact the library in advance to be sure the notary is available.  Picture identification is required.

The library also offers several educational series presentations. These events will be posted on our calendar.

NEW - The library is an authorized education provider for those individuals seeking to become a notary public or need to renew their commission.  Classes are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m. Advance registration is required. Please contact the library at 440-576-3690 or via email at to reserve your seat in the class. 

PLEASE NOTE: We are offering 2 classes in July on the 8th & 22nd and will resume our normal schedule starting in August. In order to comply with the State of Ohio standards in response to the pandemic,  our classes will be limited to 9 attendees. Masks are required to enter the county complex and social distancing will be observed.
