The Ashtabula County Law Library was recently approved as an education provider by the Ohio Secretary of State for individuals wanting to become a notary public and for those renewing their commission.  The library will offer the required 1-hour & 3-hour education requirements as well as the testing for new applicants. These classes will be offered on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m. at the Ashtabula County Complex located at 25 W. In July we have scheduled 2 classes, on July 8th and July 22nd. Our normal schedule will resume in August on the 3rd Wednesday of the month and continue on this schedule until further notice. 

To comply with the standards issued by the State of Ohio in response to the pandemic, our classes will be limited to 9 attendees. Masks are required to enter the county complex and social distancing will be observed.

Please note the 1 hour education certificate is valid for up to 12 months prior to filing the renewal application and the required BCI background report can be obtained up to 6 months prior to submitting your notary application.
