Kathryn Whittington was elected to serve on the Ashtabula County Board of Commissioners on January 3, 2017 for a four (4) year term of office. Commissioner Whittington was re-elected to serve an additional four (4) year term of office to begin on January 3, 2021.
Kathryn has been working diligently since elected on the drug epidemic locally, statewide and nationally. She has created an initiative, Rural America, and spoken across the country on the prevention efforts and successes of Ashtabula County. Kathryn supports law enforcement and was instrumental in the creation of the new Crime Enforcement Agency of Ashtabula County (CEAAC), a drug task force that serves Ashtabula County.
Kathryn was previously employed with Ashtabula County Children Services, serving the children and families of Ashtabula County for 15 years and has over 25 years of experience working with families and communities. She was formerly the Community Service Coordinator for Ashtabula County Children Services Board.
Kathryn currently serves on various Health & Human Services Committees as well as Justice & Public Safety Committees through the County Commissioners Association of Ohio and the National Associations of Counties.
Kathryn is a West Geauga High School graduate and has an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in General Business Administration.
