J.P.
Ducro IV was first elected by the voters of Ashtabula County to
the Ashtabula County Board of Commissioners to his first four (4) Year term
commencing on January 2, 2017. Commissioner Ducro
was re-elected to serve his second four (4) year term of office to begin
on January 2, 2021.
J. P. is
a lifelong resident of Ashtabula County who has been very active in
his community, working tirelessly to improve the image of Ashtabula City
by participating in numerous clean-up projects and community events.
J.
P. was elected to serve as President on
the Ashtabula City Council from 2011 until 2016. He has
been Chairman of the Ashtabula Area Chamber of Commerce, Exalted Ruler of BPO
Elks #208, a member of the Ashtabula Area City Schools Business Advisory
Council, and the past president of the Ashtabula/Harbor/Lakeside High School
Alumni Association.
In
addition to his public sector involvement, he has been a practicing
licensed funeral director/embalmer since 1995 and is a fifth
generation funeral director in his family business, Ducro Funeral
Services and Crematory, founded in 1853.
A 1988 graduate
of Ashtabula High School, he served as a Cross Country and Track
Coach at Ashtabula High School for 10 years prior to its consolidation
with Harbor High School.
While serving as
Commissioner, J.P. chaired the local 2020 Census Complete Count Committee,
established the Ashtabula County Broadband Taskforce, and serves on the Finance
Executive Committee for the Eastgate Regional Council of Governments, the Board
of Directors for LEEDCo., and the CEBCO Board which is the County Health
Insurance Benefits Consortium.
He
resides in Ashtabula City with his wife, Peggy and their four daughters.
